which is faster depends on ur proffeciency at either of the farms. vaettir however only require being able to hold up perma shadow form. they both easy though. bombing in my personal opinion is much more fun though

If the mandragor spawn is a problem, pop up SF (just SF) and run back to through the portal. Not that the DP should be an issue, but sometimes those little buggers will camp on the shrine.

I have been mixing up farming vaettirs by kill char outside of Gunners hold. There you get lots of warrior stuff as well as Sup char dolls, and char carvings in prep for wintersday. Only things is to go through the gate to the south first so after you kill the char, then just die, sending you back to res point by the southern gate, then rezone. Also theres a cave to the west full of warrior wolves with a Warrior boss there as well. This is a good place for different warrior skins from the char ones, as well as the elite for the boss, he gives a green para shield as well (which I found rather disappointing, to be honest).

I find it takes me ~25 minutes to get there, time I really dread spending (I can't just run straight there in ~15 minutes, WAY too boring - gotta try and hit bosses/chests along the way). Then I can bomb at most another ~35 minutes before my inventory is full and I have to vendor/chest (I bring 100 ID/100 salv and salvage all white/blue/purple, and toss < 250g 'slots'). Dealing with chest/vendor takes me another 20-30 minutes, depending on if I decide to "consume" alcohols in Kamadan, spamming WTS... By that time, I'm bored and can't be bothered to grind another hour.
It seems to drop a lot faster for events (100 event items during that ~35 minutes). However during non-event periods, raptor or modified "legit" farms seem more profitable (and funner). In fact, I sometimes just prefer vanquishing for rep...
I'm also betting that the UW/etc farms requiring the 1k/scroll entrances, or the EotN dungeon chests, have much greater potential (but I haven't bothered with that route yet, working towards 23rd title first...).

I like keg farming much more. Only thing I gotta do is spam my keys and keep up SF. Simple. I'll take out Avarr, Whiteout, Tamwhatever, Fenrir, The warrior wolf boss, the Ice Imp boss by teh summit. Some of the Summit, most of the Berserker groups. The run there is no problem, simple and easy. Especially with the Charr Invaders quest. Overall like I said bombing requires less brain work. Because you don't have to watch your health like you would in Raptor farming and don't have to use any skills other than 123 and wherever my Return is.
Hopefully Anet doesn't nerf it before Easter ><

I agree totally
Actually I run two accounts at the same time, doubling drops, keg farming is so easy that this still requires no skill. Therefore keg farming is the best ive found for this type of thing. Unfortunately I was afk all last weekend so missed out on the 1000 or so drops I would have gotten lol, nevermind.

Went to try Vaetir bombing yesterday but there were only about a dozen there in total.
Any ideas on a quest that restricts the numbers? Wiki didn't mention any that I have active.
Thanks in advance.

Are you on HM? I know for a fact that in NM, there are the aforementioned dozen or so Vaettir, but with HM, you'll have 60 Vaettir total.
And while others are posting their variants of Keg farming, here's mine:
[glyph of swiftness][deadly paradox][shadow form]["I am Unstoppable!"][Shadow refuge][Dwarven stability][Dark escape][Return]

I use the same bar as you, except that I take [Dash] and not ["I am Unstoppable!"]. Don't need it as I can outrun them all

I used to do a lot of Raptor farming for festival items and stuff. It was a good farm but after some time it gets really bored (same as every farm). Now I bomb Vaettir for festival drops since the thanksgiving event and it was a great farm.
My numb3rs:
-a run 2min16sec
-on average ~5 hard apples and ~5 pies.
After how many runs you rezone depends on the player. You can pick up white loot and sell it to the merch, this way you need to rezone like every 10 mins (so this way, raptor farm suits you better), you pick op the white loot and salvage it, you can also just pick up the gold items, dye, tomes, stones etc. Im doing the last option so I return to town when I have like 30 goldies. Normally you will have around 80 festival items of each aswell.
Build I use:
[glyph of swiftness][deadly paradox][shadow form][dwarven stability][dark escape][dash][i am unstoppable][recall]
I use recall to teleport to Budger when Im stuck ^^ you can also use [return][viper's defence] etc.
None is really better, it's just your person preferance.

EDIT: From Sifhalla to the Vaettir spot takes me 7 mins to run.

So there is no quest that will affect the numbers of vaetir's?

I think there is a quest but dont know which one. Make sure you are in HM.
Does anyone notice the kill rate? I started bombing a bit before halloween, I was getting very good gold drop rate. Doesnt seem to matter how fast i kill them. I tried to bomb slowly or as fast as i could drop them. I still get good drop. After the "big" update, title updates, the rate seem to drop dramatically. I barely get any gold items. Not sure if anyone notice or not. Let me know about your experiences.
Also do you guy agro both groups then kill them all at once or kill each group one at a time? I cant seem to pull both of them together.... they break agro once going into the other side.
